5. Comprehensive Coverage It is usually required if you have a vehicle loan. Comprehensive coverage pays for any damages to your car or a car you are operating, caused by non-collision factors such as theft, fire, vandalism, nature disasters, collision with a bird, animal or other risks.
6. Uninsured motorists (UM) and Underinsured motorist (UIM) Usually only body injures are covered under these policies. UM coverage pays for your or your family member injuries caused by an uninsured or hit-and-run driver. UIM pays for your total loss when at-fault driver liability insurance limits are insufficient. Additional Coverages
If you want to strengthen the auto insurance policy, you can add special services such as:
1. Rental reimbursement pays vehicle rentals if your own car is repaired for damage covered under your policy or stolen.
2. Towing and labor. This coverage pays for towing your car to a repair shop, delivery of gas, oil or a battery, and laboring expenses.
3. Windshield replacement coverage pays for the windshield to be fixed or replace if it has been cracked or shattered.
Before including these services in your auto insurance policy, check your car warranty and auto club memberships. Because some of them can be included already.
